Healthy Ageing: Exercise, Nutrition, and Longevity This series explores the science of healthy ageing, focusing on exercise, nutrition, sleep, inflammation, and mindset. Exercise as Medicine (18.03.25) – Physical activity extends lifespan and preserves function. We’ll discuss the latest ICFSR guidelines, resistance training, and cardiovascular exercise for long-term health. Nutrition and Longevity (25.03.25) – Diet influences inflammation, muscle mass, and metabolism. Learn about protein needs, omega-3s, and polyphenols, and whether supplements are necessary. The Science of Pilates (01.04.25) – Beyond flexibility, Pilates supports balance, posture, and bone health, reducing fall risk and improving neuromuscular control. Strength Training & Cognitive Health (08.04.25) – Resistance training enhances brain plasticity, reduces dementia risk, and improves memory. Sleep and Ageing (15.04.25) – Poor sleep accelerates cognitive decline and disease risk. We’ll explore strategies to enhance sleep quality. Inflammation and Ageing (22.04.25) – Chronic inflammation drives disease. Learn how exercise, diet, and stress management combat “inflammageing.” The Psychology of Healthy Ageing (29.04.25) – Mindset affects longevity. Discover behavioural strategies for confidence, motivation, and resilience. Each session combines science and practical tools for a longer, healthier life.
